Welcome to a Hopeful Conversation
A Safe Place in Troubled Times ♱ A Place Where Faith & Hope Collide
Welcome to A Hopeful Conversation.
I wonder what brought you here. Perhaps it was curiosity from a post shared, or maybe you were looking for a place to relax. Whatever the reason, I am glad you came. I invite you to grab a blanket, fix your favorite cup of coffee or tea, and lean back into a well worn chair. Sit with me a while.
I offer Christ-centered care as a writer, chaplain, spiritual director, and counselor. As a firm believer in the great commands to Love God & Love People, I know first hand how challenging that can be.
In tumultuous times, I steer clear of political and doctrinal debates. That is not my gifting nor call. I offer what I refer to as, a med-tent approach. Let me explain.
My oldest brother served as a med-tech in Vietnam. Anyone who came to the medical tent for help, got helped. Period. It didn’t matter the color of skin nor nationality. The med-tent was a safe zone.
I want this site to be a safe zone for you in seasons of laughter or tears, strength or weariness, hope or despair.
We live in troubled times. Nonetheless, I believe with all my heart that hope in God’s goodness can anchor our souls. I do my best to address difficulties through a respectful heart. In no way do I pretend to have all the answers on any subject. Please disagree when you disagree, and consider reconsidering when my views challenge yours.
This Hopeful Conversation offers encouraging words of comfort, moments captured through photography, and resources to help. Some posts run long and deep from seasons of having more questions than answers. Other posts are a few sentences where you are invited to enjoy thoughts of birds chirping or a gentle breeze. Regardless of the activity, this is an invitation to simply be…
If this is all you read, please remember. There is someone who cares deeply for you. His name is Jesus, and nothing can separate you from His love.
I dedicate this site to you, my Reader.
Come! Join me in discovering the presence of God through the beauty of ordinary life.
Mary
